FCA Athletic Philosophy

Our athletics program seeks to emphasize our philosophy of education in not just the physical aspect, but the intellectual, spiritual, and social aspects as well. Although winning is a good means of measuring an individual or teams ability to compete, it is not the only, or even most important, goal we are trying to achieve.

I believe that as you look at the world today, athletes are role models for kids across the world. I also believe that this is true in our schools as well. With this in mind, I believe that athletes should be held to a higher standard, as role models to others around us.

We want to emphasize the development of life skills such as teamwork, self-discipline, commitment, determination, hard work, excellence, and humility.

Spiritually, we want to emphasize respect, perseverance, a servant’s attitude, and Christ-likeness.

With that being said, we expect these qualities from our student athletes as well as our coaching staff. Although everyone has their ups and downs, good days and bad, 100% effort in all we do is expected.

Our sports program seeks to compliment our ultimate goal as a Christian educating extension of each household.

Philippians 3:12-14
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
