Lunch Program

We are happy to introduce the lunch program for the 2010-2011 school year.  We have been working with a catering company who will be providing parents with the option of buying lunch for their children every day this year.  The Lunch will cost $3.50 and you can order the lunches in the weekly order form that will come home with your children.  All orders will need to be placed by 4 pm on Friday for the next weeks lunches.  There will also be the option to buy a peanut butter and jelly or ham and cheese sandwich if you choose.

This program is being done on a trial basis to see if we have enough participation to carry it on.  The catering company is asking for  a minimum of forty orders per day in order to cater to our school.  They are giving us the month of September to see if we can get the participation needed.  If you have any questions, please call the office at (956) 581-7777 and ask to speak to Mari.

Lady Knights Season Opener (A blurb about the game)

FCA Lady Knights want to thank everyone that came out to support the game last night.  This volleyball game starts off the 2010-2011 sports year for the athletic department.  Although they did not take the overall victory against the Valley Grande Lions, the Lady Knights played very well and won game three (25-22).  They had a great attitude, and “they didn’t quit,” said the first grade teacher, Mrs. Munne, which shows a lot of character.

The girls played as a team, and they were consistent in their strategies.  Unity in a team is what will take them far.  Coach Loresto said this game was one of the best first games that she has seen from the Lady Knights over the years.  The Lions had a lot of power, and their players were pretty tall; but they did not show the team spirit and structure that the Lady Knights showed.

In the first 5 minutes of game one, there were four players who set the stage for how the rest of the season should go.  Jordan Galloso, #16,  served the ball, and on the return #4, Ezerynne Santos; #5, Daniella Vela; and #3, Tessia Gonzalez worked together to keep the ball in play.  They did it just like they practiced and made it look so easy.  With 9 games in the season and a few more months of practice, BUMP, SET & SPIKE are going to be three words these volleyball girls know well.

When the director of FCA, Jeff Bridwell, was asked what he thought of the game, he replied:  “I’m excited to see the potential in our girls.  Although they lost today, they showed a lot of fight and showed the upside that we expect them to realize.  Our volleyball team is a relatively new program, but we are building something special here.  I’m proud of our girls.”
